The recent premiere of the documentary "Avicii: I'm Tim" at the Tribeca Film Festival has brought back the poignant final moments of the renowned DJ Avicii, whose real name was Tim Bergling. The film sheds light on never-before-heard interviews with Bergling, showcasing his struggles with mental health issues that ultimately led to his untimely death by suicide at the age of 28 in 2018, exacerbated by the demanding nature of his tour schedule.
"Avicii: I'm Tim" also includes insights from various individuals who collaborated with Bergling, such as Jesse Waits, a prominent figure in Las Vegas nightlife. Waits witnessed firsthand the detrimental impact of painkillers on Bergling, describing him as being distant and altered due to their effects. Bergling's reliance on pills to cope with anxiety while on tour is highlighted in a poignant interview where he expresses regret over pushing himself to the brink.

The documentary, directed by Henrik Burman, serves as a tribute to Bergling's legacy. In 2019, Bergling's family established a foundation aimed at supporting research and preventive measures for young individuals grappling with suicidal thoughts.
Additionally, Academy Award-winning filmmaker Lawrence Bender is working on a new documentary featuring previously unreleased footage capturing Bergling's journey to stardom. Meanwhile, Pophouse Entertainment, a major investor in Bergling's music catalog since 2022, is planning to develop a musical centered around his life.
These projects are part of ongoing efforts to honor Avicii's memory and raise awareness about mental health challenges in the music industry.
