Tracktion Introduces Clip Launching and Wavetable Synthesizer in Waveform Pro 13 Update

With the latest updates, Tracktion Waveform Pro has emerged as a DAW you might not have known you needed, but the latest version could seal the deal with a new wavetable synthesizer promising familiar clip launching and an expanding user base.
Waveform is a DAW for Mac, PC, and Linux and has one of the best free versions available, but the latest update seems to suggest that Ableton-style clip launching is the new 'must-have' feature, which many DAWs already have. While Ableton may have started the clip launching party, other big names like Logic Pro and Bitwig Studio have joined in. Version 13 of Waveform Pro could be seen as an update, but its integration with the editor window makes it look a bit more organized in our book. If we were to continue with the 'party' analogy, then, like a cooler kid showing up late to the party, but dressed in cool pants and everyone at the party saying 'wow.'
The clip launching feature in Waveform Pro 13 allows you to record and edit MIDI and audio clips and play and perform with them using various sequencer actions. You can pre-arrange these actions and adjust probability levels if you want to move towards more random events.
Waveform Pro's Wavetable synthesis offers 150 wavetables, five effect slots, and plenty of modulation features.
Ableton-style clip launching has become a must-have feature these days.
As with other DAWs, all your live performances can be recorded – using Performance Recording in this case – and edited in the editor window after the event, which seems to be in a more favorable position compared to most DAWs. Along with the new clip launching features, Tracktion has announced support for Ableton Link and a range of MIDI controllers from Novation and Akai.
Another significant update to Waveform Pro is Wavetable, which conveniently features two wavetable oscillators - again, Ableton anyone? - and a sub and noise oscillator. It includes 150 included wavetables and allows you to import your own WAVs and Serum wavetables. The synthesizer features five reorderable effect slots and plenty of modulation capabilities.
